Yes, Apple already has an event scheduled for June 10th, 2024, but the technology giant just announced another special event for May 7th, 2024.
Much like the “Scary Fast” event Apple held in October 2023, which ushered in new Macs, this upcoming event is online-only and comes with the tagline “Let loose.” The included artwork also gives us a pretty big hint as to what Apple (AAPL) might be unveiling — it features a creatively interpreted Apple logo field centered around a drawing of an Apple Pencil.

Our bet would be on two new iPads — the iPad Pro and iPad Air — as well as major updates to accessories, including the Apple Pencil. These devices are set to let you unleash creativity, presumably, and maybe even productivity tasks.

Regarding the rumored hardware, Apple is expected to show off two iPad Pro models, both getting a major upgrade from LED and Mini LED to OLED displays. This will up the overall immersiveness and should impress for both work and play tasks. Considering the jump from LED-powered displays to OLED, the design can get thinner for the 11-inch and 12.9-inch models. Additionally, performance should be supercharged with the jump from the M2 to the M3 processor under the hood.
Recent reports have also noted that Apple will simultaneously refresh and expand the iPad Air lineup alongside the iPad Pro. Currently, the iPad Air comes in one size — 10.9 inches — and is sort of a “Pro-sumer” model with ample power from the M1 chip, support for the Magic Keyboard and the latest Apple Pencil, and a better-equipped display. If reports are true, though, the iPad Air will stick with a 10.9-inch size but also come in a 12.9-inch size, meaning that there will be a more affordable large-sized iPad.

We also expect a new Apple Pencil and upgrades to the Magic Keyboard to be unveiled alongside the new iPads. Either way, time will tell, and Apple will show off its new goods on May 7th, 2024, via a live-streamed event at 7 AM PT/10 AM ET.
